Early closure mechanisms of the ductus arteriosus in immature infants

چکیده
Aim According to experimental studies, cardiopulmonary distress decreases after closure of patent ductus arteriosus. However, early the using ibuprofen or indomethacin has failed increase survival without serious morbidity. We review relevant data aiming define optimal management strategies that promote arteriosus adverse effects. Methods Literature in English was searched selectively focusing on potential acetaminophen for ductus. Results Prophylactic intended close ductus, predisposes infants ischaemia, bleeding and immune dysfunction. Acetaminophen appears have a similar efficacy as ibuprofen, all three dose-dependently constrict Ibuprofen cause non-specific inhibition prostaglandin synthesis, while predominantly inhibits E synthesis. Owing low CYP450 activity infancy, toxicity been rarely evident. increasing dosage increases oxidative stress. prophylactic treatments may safety acetaminophen. These include vitamin A, cysteine glutamine, low-dose corticosteroid supplementation. Conclusion The current challenge is safe perinatal practice promotes cardiorespiratory adaptation immature infants, particularly seamless before significant develops.

Intravenous Paracetamol and Patent Ductus Arteriosus Closure
Background: Standard medical treatments for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure are, including indomethacin/ibuprofen and surgical ligation. Nowadays, a new strategy to close PDA is the use of paracetamol. The present study aimed to describe the use of intravenous (IV) paracetamol for PDA closure in neonates who present a contraindication to ibuprofen or ibuprofen failure with no possibility...
متن کاملPharmacological closure of ductus arteriosus in preterm infants using indomethacin.
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) was diagnosed in 27 (21 %) of 129 infants weighing < 1500 g at birth presenting over I years. The incidence ofPDA in infants with pulmonary disease, particularly hyaline membrane disease, was higher than that in infants without such disease (31% compared with 16%). 16 (59%) infants with PDA developed congestive cardiac failure (CCF), of whom 12 were <1000 g at bir...
متن کاملPercutaneous closure of patent ductus arteriosus in preterm infants.
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is found in more than 60% of preterm infants born at a gestational age of less than 28 weeks.1,2 The therapeutic approach to PDA consists of medical treatment with indomethacin or ibuprofen, and surgical ligation or stapling as salvage therapy. Surgery is not free of complications,2-4 with a mortality risk that ranges between 1% and 10%.2,5,6 We present the case o...
متن کاملThe Physiologic Closure of the Ductus Arteriosus
The exact time of functional closure of the ductus arteriosus in the newborn human infant has remained a matter of speculation for many years. Studies of human anatomical specimens have shown that complete morphologic closure requires from four to eight weeks (1-5). Animal experiments have been the main approach to the study of functional closure. All workers agree that at the time of birth, bu...
